Greetings.
From the summer of 2007 to the beginning of 2008, I traveled the United States documenting and befriending street folk.
I met the man pictured above in Seattle. He's got a rocking beard! His writing (uninfluenced by me), along with the photograph I took, appear above.
The same pattern is used for every person stumbled upon: a photograph and piece of work done by the individual. Collectively, the people I met created drawings, writings, and even poetry for the world to see.
It is my hope that your consciousness will raise from this project, to look beyond the dirty eye-sore of a homeless person and into a real person you could connect with. These folk need genuine warmth and communication just as much as they need money. Let yourself look them in the eye, and through my book, let them look in yours!
